The Elections and Boundaries Commission is an independent electoral commission that was established by Section 90 of the Constitution of Swaziland, 2005. The Commission consists of a Chairperson, deputy Chairperson and three other members.
The members of the Commission are appointed by the King on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission.
The Chairperson is the spokesperson of the Commission, or the Commission may appoint from outside or designate from among its members a person to act as the spokesperson for the Commission. The Commission may be represented at any forum or meeting by any member of the Commission or the Secretariat that is nominated by the Commission.
The Commission has a secretariat consisting of a Head and support staff.
provides technical and administrative support to the Commission;
keeps proper files and correspondence for the Commission;
keeps proper records of minutes;
convenes and prepares for meetings as the chairperson may direct; and
carries out any other functions which the Commission or the Chairperson may direct.
